We at the Recorder’s office are taking the necessary steps and precautions to maintain the health and safety of our customers and employees as our nation deals with the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have any symptoms related to COVID-19, we ask that you please not come into our office.
We would like to encourage public to utilize our online record search services at http://millardcountyrecorder.org/. We would also like to encourage you to mail in your documents with a check for payment as we are trying to avoid cash.
If it is necessary for you to come into our office please do so by appointment by calling (435)743-6210.
Following policy, we will not provide title searches or do abstracts/chain of title for anyone. We do however, have an abundance of information available by request, that we can email to you at the same cost as it would be if you were present in the office. These include documents, maps, abstract books, etc. We would be more than happy to assist you by email or phone as well.
The operations of the County Recorder are all specified and required by state law. The recorder’s office records documents and maps and also maintains cross-reference indexes to these records. The office provides for the subsequent retrieval of records for public viewing and produces copies and certifications of the records.
A set of maps or plats are kept up to date which show the current ownership of every tract of the land in the county. The assessor bases his work upon the information turned over to that office by the recorder, and in turn the treasurer collects taxes which are assessed. The County Recorder's Office also acts as the county surveyor's office only for the purpose of accepting, retaining and managing county survey records.
